Dr. Prabhakar Rao Mandava
Director
Dr. Mandava Prabhakar Rao is Chairman & Managing Director of Nuziveedu Seeds Limited (NSL), Chairman of the NSL Group, and President of the National Seed Association of India, based in Hyderabad. Born into an agricultural family in Andhra Pradesh, he studied at the Institute of Agricultural Science, Banaras Hindu University, earning top ranks and a gold medal in his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Agriculture. He took over NSL in 1982 from his father, who founded it in 1973, and grew it into India's largest seed company, with the NSL Group now spanning seeds, textiles, sugar, infrastructure, and renewable power and generating around ₹5,000 crore in annual turnover. Under his leadership, NSL pioneered agronomic innovations such as High-Density Planting Systems in cotton and Direct Sowing in Rice, reaching nearly 7 million farmers and building a network of over 100,000 progressive farmer leaders; he also played a key role in bridging biotechnology developers and plant breeding companies through a landmark industry framework, and his breeding work underlies much of India's cotton production. Beyond NSL, he has held major industry leadership positions, including founding member and multi-term President of NSAI, Chairman of FICCI's Andhra Pradesh State Council, President of ISMA in 2024, and past roles on bodies like the International Seed Federation and the Central Seed Committee. His contributions have earned him numerous awards, including the DSIR R&D award, the Agriculture Leadership Award, and a Life Time Achievement Award from ABSA, along with honorary doctorates from Chandrasekhar Azad University (2023) and Krishna University (2025). He has also driven roughly ₹10,000 crore in industrial investment across power, textiles, sugar, and IT infrastructure, employs about 20,000 people, and is deeply engaged in philanthropy through the Mandava Foundation and The Swarna Bharat Trust, supporting education, healthcare, and rural development initiatives.
Mrs. M. Asha Priy
Whole-Time Director
Mrs. Asha Priya is a Post Graduate in Home Science. She stood University First in M.Sc. (Child Development) in the year 1984. She also holds Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Kuchipudi Dance. In addition to her interest in supporting the rural poor in the fields of Education, Health and Rural Development, she has a keen eye on Heritage Preservation in the country. She has provided support to ancient forms of dances, arts, spiritual centres etc. Being very sympathetic towards economically backward young girls in rural areas, she actively supports development of vocational training centres to help young girls.
Mr. M. Venkatram Chowdary
Managing Director
Mr. M. Venkatram Chowdhary completed his Business Management Certification in Finance from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), USA. He holds a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Amity University, Noida. He served on the Board of NSL Textiles Limited as Whole-Time Director during the period between 5.9.2011 and 15.3.2016.

Mr. K. Ratna Gopal is Engineering graduate from Andhra University, where he was a university ranker. He brings over five decades of distinguished experience in operations, project management, human resource management and profit centre leadership. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership and management positions in reputed organisations such as SAIL, BHEL, and Chevron Corporation, USA. In these roles, he successfully led large teams, strengthened operational excellence, and delivered complex projects across diverse business environments.
Widely travelled and globally exposed, Mr. Ratna Gopal brings a strong cross-cultural perspective and a broad, world-class approach to leadership and business management. His experience across diverse functions has enabled him to enhance overall group performance at scale by aligning people, processes, and organisational priorities with strategic decision-making.
He has also been a key contributor in shaping human resource strategy, building high-performing teams, nurturing leadership talent, and fostering a strong organisational culture across functions.
With his rich experience, strategic outlook, and people-centric leadership style, Mr. Ratna Gopal continues to provide valuable guidance and direction to the company’s growth and organisational development.
Dr. P. Kotaiah
Non Executive Director
Dr. Kotaiah holds a Postgraduate degree in Economics (Gold Medal), a Doctor of Letters from Andhra University, and is an Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. His distinguished five-decade career spans banking, finance, economic development, and corporate governance, including leadership roles at NABARD (Executive Chairman 1992–1998) and consultancy for the World Bank, FAO, IFAD, and UNDP across 20 countries.
Mr. P. Mohanaiah

A postgraduate in Economics from Osmania University, Mr. Mohanaiah is a retired Chief General Manager of NABARD. Over his 35-year career, he has worked across multiple states in India, holding leadership positions that drove business development, rural development, and institutional strengthening.
Mr. Mannam Malakondaiah
Independent Director
A 1985 batch IPS officer and former Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Malakondaiah also served as Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of APSRTC. He advises MHPL on risk compliance, IT governance, and internal control systems, enhancing the Group’s security and regulatory alignment.

The CRO operates independently of business and finance functions and reports directly to the Board of Directors / Risk Management Committee, thereby ensuring objective oversight and regulatory compliance in accordance with RBI guidelines.

Dr. Prabhakar Rao Mandava
Chairman
Mr. Mandava Prabhakar Rao holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science (Agriculture) and a Master’s degree in Agronomy from Banaras Hindu University, where he was a top ranker. He has been associated with MHPL since its incorporation and was appointed Chairman and Managing Director in 2010. Previously with Nuziveedu Seeds Limited, he has received national recognition for his contributions to cotton research and development. He also serves as President of the National Seed Association of India and the Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce.
Mrs. Asha Priya Mandava
Whole-Time Director
Mrs. Mandava Asha Priya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and Clothing Construction and a Master’s degree in Home Science from the University of Madras. Associated with MHPL since its inception, she contributes to governance and strategic oversight.
Mr. M. Venkatram Chowdary
Managing Director
Mr. Chowdary holds a BBA from Amity University, Noida, and a Business Management Certification in Finance from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Having worked with NSL Textiles before pursuing higher studies in the US, he brings strong business acumen and leadership to MHPL’s growth initiatives.
